Our school is located in Milazzo, a small town in the north-east of Sicily, close to Messina, which is the closest town to mainland Italy. It’s quite a big school with 1009 students aged 14-19, 162 qualified teachers. There are seven different programs aiming at both vocational and theoretical education. 1. Hospitality, Hotel, and Restaurant Services; 2. Management, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, and Environment; 3. Furniture, Interior Design, 4. Scenic Design, 5. Graphics, 6. Digital Design, 7. Graphic Ceramic.

Milazzo is the third-largest city in the province of Messina and one of the most important cities of Sicily. The city has a population of over 32,000 inhabitants and it’s the main port of departure to the Aeolian Islands. The program of our school dealing with Hospitality, Hotel and Restaurant Services Management is strictly connected to the touristic background of Milazzo.

After finishing school, lots of students, who have chosen this program are taken on the hotels and restaurants carrying out tasks dealing with hotel and restaurant operations, food preparation, and service. The other programs of our school: Landscape Architecture, Furniture Interior Design, and Digital Design belong to the theoretical education of lyceum. Our students are encouraged to develop a passion for art and design concerning drawing, visual communication, photography, cinematography, pottery, and ceramic. Our students acquire and develop excellent computer, technological and communication skills that are necessary to enter the labor market and to cope with the business competition. After finishing secondary school, the students, who have chosen the art lyceum, become skilled at computer programs and information technologies.

Our school can be an asset to this project because it can share its experiences with its partners in all activities and it has already gained lots of experiences throughout the years related to the integration of immigrant students. There are 59 immigrant students enrolled in our school and we help them to join didactic and formative activities with their classmates. In this respect, we want to share our teaching practices with our European colleagues and, at the same time, we want to learn and practice with the help of this project. The dialogue and sharing of information related to the inclusion of immigrants will help the countries joining this project to get excellent results.

We have a dynamic and highly motivated Erasmus team composed of 7 people, who specialize in Architecture, English, French, Special Needs Education, and Economy. They have carried out various projects and made a contribution to the project in the eTwinning platform titled "Bridging Cultures". If any of these persons leave the appointment for health or any other reasons, the director of the institution will appoint other colleagues who have the same qualifications that the project needs.
